MakO Flutter Bass

Okay, I was wondering how to make a sound from one of the free sample packs that MakO put together.
It can be heard at exactly 0:29 in the demo:
Soundcloud
Obviously, if I wanted to, I could just use the sample but I am more interested in the technique used in getting the percussive like sound to the bass; it is so cool and unique.
Any ideas?

Foley sample with possible chopping or tremolo involved. The foley sample might be him blowing on a piece of paper but on sides and the paper must be on the table. Paper is lifted at the middle when blown

I like your way of thinking. I'm also sure I heard somewhere that MakO uses lots of foley recordings. Unfortunately I don't really have the equipment to record something like this myself but I would be interested to see the result.

I'd try pitching sliding a bass really quickly.

Yeah I'm in that phase right now where I think everything neuro is the absolute shit... I used to make full tracks and now I just sit around for hours resampling a 65-measure bass note

Okay I think I got it haha.
I basically just put an envelope on the rate of a performer that was modulating the volume of an osc using massive.
Resampled and BOOM:
Soundcloud

The bass sounds great on its own. How did you achieve that kind of sound? Any info would be helpful.

Saw wave LFO with rate modulated.

That sample pack sounds pretty sweet, some of those basses definitely sound granulised or you could at least get similar things by using a granuliser

Is that direct at me? I don't mean the fluttering I am talking about the sound. That hollow kind of effect. Seems to me a comb filter doing that with a particular wt. Although a vocoder can produce a somewhat similar sound with low bandwidth but this particular sound doesn't seems to be vocoded.
