Calling Reason users and Others for bass Design

Ok ill get straight to the point, ive been working hard and throughly on this sort of wonky, metallic, bouncy, vowel, MId-range bass. I have made some solids attempts and im in the ball park but its not quite there yet. Sound is in the sytle of Dungeon, Riddim, and tearout.

Ive searched the internet for the past month and have gone through 100's of pages on here. Reading stuff from 2009 even, got some helpful stuff.

Ill explain a bit of the sound and post examples and my attempts at this. Bare with me... This my second time writing this article :u:

Ive looked around and herd all the same answer, use fast delays, tight reverb, DUCKORGAN, Split the Freqs and resample. Been there done that. Comes out to be a very muddy and stereo sound. Close but not professional. Ive been using massive for my sounds and a mixture of different technics. What ive read, this sound come mainly from reason synths.( Thor,Subtractor, and Malestrom) I have the demo version and rewired it a couple times but im not so savy with reason. As of yet.

Other ways include fm synthesis but im not sure quite how? Its easy to just say an answer for something and be as vague as possible. Basically all ive read was vague answers and maybes.

Sound is popular in artist such as Megaladon, Kromestar, Badklaat, D-Jasta, Requake, Vodex, and many others. Most use reason but others have made similar stuff with out using reason. Style of music is very repetitive and simple but i love the sound design aspect of it! Very unique :6:

Heres are links to some soundclouds and a youtube channel devoted to this Mid-range bass-

Thanks for sticking through guys! Much appreciate the help on this sort of stuff. Might be asking to much but whatever.

Here are some of my attempts, very mediocre and bland, you get the idea though.

If you need an expiation on any of these, id be glad to share info and send out the projects and patches out. Im in ableton and used massive only for some and others i had quite the resampling fx chain going.

Thanks again guys :) This has been driving me crazy for awhile now and wanted to see if anyone had any actual clue what so ever. Want to use this sort of sound design in my music and not wash and rerinse out the sound to the grave and destroy it.

See you m8s later, sorry for extra long post. Wanted to get my thoughts out there :w:

I think a lot of these sounds are made using FM synthesis.

Is this kind of what you are looking for?

Pretty much, i havent messed around long enough in fm to know whats going on, that why i use massive. I know it, inside out. Doing stuff that people wont really think of doing. Going to make a massive thread about 4 technics to step up your sound design( other ways to modulate knobs, what sounds good, what to automate and how much.)

Care to explain? Are you in fm8?

It sounds like FM to me. R3b, try to focus on external complexity after you're finished internally. It will really help you get your sound to a T. Your sounds are good and developing, but seriously, throw like 15 saturators on there, maybe some compressors and limiters and EQ's, or how about attempt at making your desired sound off of the default massive patch!
I did that once, if you're interested i'll link you a video.

You'll understand effects better, they really do help, and if you succeed with the default patch getting to the sound you want, imagine the potential if you get the sound you want in massive then add the effects :)

I think I'll make an attempt at fm today. All of my sounds besides maybe two didn't have an external effects.

I'm fine with making and doing effects in long controlled trains but it's not what I'm looking for.

I'll look up some fm8 tutorials and articles and apply the same external processing to what's being done in there.

Plus I don't really use a limiter on really anything of my sounds. I think it makes everything smashed and brick like. I could also use more compression in my sounds also. I'll post something later.
