Massive & Sylenth1 Filter Cutoff Frequency

I recently recieved my Welsch's Synthesizer Cookbook.
On the first page it tells you to use the audio files on the included CD to figure out what the middle point is on your synthesizer's filter cutoff knob is.
I was having a hard time trying to pair the sounds up, and I was wondering if anyone knew the numbers off the top of their head.
I want to know what the center value is for Massive Lowpass Filter Cutoff (hz) and also for Sylenth1.
Thank you guys!

Why not load a full range patch into the synth, play with the fitler and observe the output on a spectrum analyser or EQ - you should be able to see exactly how the filter is affecting the sound.

Never even thought of that, thanks guys.

I'm not sure you would be able to tell exactly where it is, because the filter is on a slope in both synths, so it's would be difficult to determine exactly what the center value is IMO.
Also, I know what it is in sylenth, because right next to where it says MENU in the LCD screen in the middle of the synth, there is an area that shows what value the last parameter you modified is. If you hold command on mac (not sure pc) and click on any parameter, it will bring it to the default value, which in the case of the filters, is the center. when you do that, the LCD screen will show that the center value of all 3 filters is 146.16 Hz.
But like I said, the filter is a slope, and you can get frequencies well above 1,000 Hz with your filters set at 146.16 Hz, so the "center value" is not that meaningful.

Massive's filter frequency is relative to current note's frequency. Just saying.

I had forgotten totally about this. It is like this by default yeah, however, it's something that can be changed rather easily

Yeah, KTR FLT -> Everything OFF.

So that's what KTR means!!! Keytracking. Holy shit now my life is complete.

In the Cookbook it also talks about syncing oscillators and have a slave and a master one. Is this possible in Sylenth?

^nope.
Also, how is it important to know the lil number that corresponds with the center of the knob? If it were number based there wouldn't even be a center.
