How the hell is this synth made?

So I heard this synth and I can't figure it out.
It's at the drop of the song below, the one that comes in almost instantly at the drop, just after the first beat of the supersaw.

A similar kind of sound can be heard in Rob Swire's drumstep mix of Witchcraft (at the drop again)

Any ideas quite how it's made or could be recreated? I'm not trying to steal their sounds, I just love the sound and am curious how it's made.
