I know there's a techno & breakcore thread but...this is neither
Can't be just me who's noticed a constantly escalating amount of stuff falling somewhere between these 4 parameters?

Names like;

The Haxan Cloak
Raime/Moin
Emptyset
Pete Swanson
Container
GNOD
Regis
Cut Hands (William Bennet)
Surgeon
Demdike Stare
Roly Porter
Basic House
Vatican Shadow/Prurient
Blood Music
Violetshaped
Violet Poison
Shapednoise
Alberich
Sturqen
Ancient Methods
Andy Stott
Deadfader
Shit & Shine

That sorta stuff, heavy as shit, go!

Hold up, you didn't know about shxcxchcxsh?

Anyway, I don't have anything to contribute atm, but the names in this thread alone makes it #2 thread of the year.

Yeah I love all the stuff listed.

Rest of the release on that last one is pretty much straight up dark techno. haha

Strongly recommend subscribing to the Electric Deluxe podcast, big techno name takes on noise/drone etc..
Except for the Lekebusch one, which packed with classic hip hop and funk :lol:

Especially like Lucy's mix myself. White Blur 2 into this straight up scary piece by Prurient...

Alberich is mah fav of those. Some of what he's done reminds me of breakcore circa the turn of the century. Abelcain, Somatic Responses..

read an interview with nate young (wolf eyes) where he was asked about this, all the noise artists suddenly going techno. he answered that they basically felt like they were all making the same noises with their keyboards, so they looked for other ways to use it and all ended doing techno with their own twist haha

Not heard this one but found a comment on RA saying;

"RobBooth wrote
Fri, 01 Mar 2013 probably the greatest and most important album of the past 10 years for me"

Sold.
