BCR 2000

Here I am again considering some stupidity, I'm afraid.

I've sworn of behringer several times. I was sworn off, and yet still bought a little riaa turntable amp. No moving parts, what could go wrong. A lot the thing is a piece of shit.

And here I am again. Seriously considering a bcr 2000 for vst control, hell even control of the virus.

Thoughts? How this integrates with flstudio?

cant give any input on that actual piece of kit, but ive used behringer equipment for awhile without too much hassle.

BUT i must say, pay peanuts get monkeys. so there is always the risk it will be a massive piece of shite.

if you're using it for vst control, why not spend the few extra squid and just get a novation zero?

Would much prefer it a novation bit over behringer, but the zero has only 8 encoders while the bcr 2000 has 24. I'm quality over quantity, but 8 is not enough.

From what I've heard this is actually a decent unit. I've sworn off berhinger myself but I know some people who love this unit. They are cheap as fuck ain't they? Not much to loose? Tho no one wants a wank piece of kit.

I have heard this as well. I have known a few people who use the BCR's in their live sets.

Just missed a used one for $100 with shipping.

With Behringer, maybe should go new?

See my op, bought a behringer riaa preamp without a single moving part, two rca's in, two rca's out... and they fucked that up. Strangest shit, one side intermittently cuts out, all I have to do is unplug and replug any connection in the signal path, and it comes back. Totally makes no sense to me.

I did read that. I can't be certain whether those I know who love their bcr bought new or used. It so hard to say w berhinger...

What is an alternative though? This product seems pretty unmatched.

I think this is one of those rare bird Behringers that actually aren't shit. I think there's probably 2 or 3 out of everything they've ever made.

Although those knobs remind me of the detented ones on an old multi-effects pedal I got when I first started playing guitar. I remember playing a show at a big theater at a music summer camp and we were playing on rented amps from the music store. Tried to hook in this little behringer two stomp plus expression pedal dealie so I could play a wah solo at the end of Comfortably Numb. I've got the instructor's Paul Reed Smith Swamp Ash going through the behringer into a super nice miked up Marshal head and cab. Thing starts fuckin squealing hahah. The instructor came and violently unplugged it and threw it backstage. Needless to say I did both solos without wah and learned a lesson about vibrato and finger tone.

Good thread, click the link!

There is this:

But it is THREE times the price.

I'd be so down with behringer, they're not all about wood cheeks and shit, just bottom level gear, but they just cross the line into unusably shitty/unreliable. I too have heard good things about the bcr and bcf for a LONG time, but I deny it :) I might at a later time get a bcf too. I would mix on hardware with motorized faders...

I think the bcr is pretty dope. For around 100$ it's totally worth it. For me it works fine with Studio One, Fl Studio and Reaper.
I also often use my Ipad as a controller, which is nice when using it as a x/y controll pad but knobs are knobs.

I've only used ipad as a traditional sound source, never as a control surface. Can you multitouch knobs on an ipad? You know, for the time being, a four by eight virtual knob multitouch interface would be perfect given the shortness of cash, but I don't know how bad wifi lag is. I'd probably want a hardware connection, and then I'm looking at an alesis i/o.

Mutlitouch knobs are no problem.
I really like this app here for general midi control
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/midi-st ... 96392?mt=8
other good midi apps are touch osc and midi designer where you can design you own controll surfaces
for daw control V-contro pro is awesome, it also can clone you screen on the Ipad and you can execute mouseclicks on the ipad.
For hardware look at this:
http://www.iconnectivity.com/iConnectMIDI2plus

it doesn't work standalone but it streams not only midi but also audio in you computer without digital/analog and back conversion.

Thanks, thanks and thanks. Crimson ghost was telling me to check out the iconnectMIDI2plus. I'm down, but I'd like an actual audio i/o - sometimes work with no computer and hardware. But we'll see!

You've really given me some things to think about. With V-contro could you set it to clone a vst interface in your daw, so you've just got a single vst on the ipad?

Whats your daw? Everything I saw for them was like protools logic. I'm an flstudio soldier.
