Komplete Product Cycle

Jello,

Where are we in the Komplete product cycle, and should I upgrade now, or in the near future to Komplete 9, from 5?

Your thoughts?

My concerns, 10 will have some awesome thing that I'll really want, but I'll actually wait until komplete 13 to upgrade, at which point the software will just be writing masterwork songs for my individual pleasure as no one will listen to anyone else's music because everyone is producing masterwork.

And/or, that they'll have some mid season, or some christmas sale, and I'll end up spending 50 bucks more than I had to for the 9 upgrade.

Well the jump from 5 to 9 was huge.
Granted I had 5 for 1-2 years.
9 just has so much to offer.

Just the updates to Reaktor, Absynth & Kontakt are worth it imo.
What they'll bring in 10 onwards I don't know.
NI are generally pretty tight lipped regarding new software.

The stability gain across all products also stood out to me.
Not sure if it was just an issue with K5 but Guitar rig for one never crashes like it used to.

hmm... I never really us guitar rig. I think I have access to the most recent Reaktor, don't I? I'm not on my production machine, can't check, but I thought so. But I don't often use reaktor. Too much, if I was in a spaceship and had like 8 years until I got to pandora, I'd be working with reaktor. But I'm trying to make beats NOW!

Absynth... don't use.

Really, I want Battery 4, any users? Battery 3 has a lot of goodness in it, but a lot of flaws imo, and it is unstable, imo. I've had very weird things happen in there. I'm wondering if 4 is a facelift, or if they refined the functionality of battery...

But anyone know when 10 is coming out? Or if NI do a christmas sale?

Dude. Absynth is a beast! But like a lot of NI stuff I find the sound a little thin or brittle...

How is integration with Maschine 2.0? I've kinda beem a Komplete neigh-sayer because its more than most people will realisti ally use...but Maschine 2.0 plus Komplete seems like an absolute monster...

They've done a lot to Battery 4 vs. 3. Granted, they got rid of like half the samples and left only the ones in there geared towards electronic music. Ive notices NI is starting to put certain products of theirs inside other products. Like Battery 4 now has the transient master as well as the solid eq and solid bus comp. Plus some other fun effects that wernt there before.

Personally i dont give a damn about the improved browser. But Battery 4 is much more pleasing to the eyes. Looks almost like the Maschine software imo.

Doesn't 9 also come with monark? keen to give that a try. Granted I'll probably wait until 10 since I already have 8, but I seriously wanna try out session horns and damage....

Wait til 10.

I'm on 8 and the upgrade to 9 is totally not worth it. 9 didn't do much. 10 will likely include something awesome like Reaktor 6 or Massive 2.

Absynth 5 is tight but if you don't use it much, you won't be ecstatic about this perk.

Guitar Rig 5, same story.

Kontakt 5 is probably the only thing in K9 worth the upgrade from K5 IMO.

I feel like they're on the verge of giving us a new Reaktor or Massive, so I'd wait for that if I were you.

The defining battle cry of the trendy young EDM enthusiast.

In Komplete 12, the whole bundle will just be Absynth's Grain Cloud effect and Razor's spectrogram displaying random patterns not related to the music at all.

Take into account he is jumping from 5 to 9.
The difference is huge.
The Giant, Monark, etc.

I just mentioned those.
The products included are well worth it imo.
For a $149 upgrade, it's a steal.

Think I'm ditching NI altogether. Prolly should just sell my komplete license.

If that's your choice then go for it.
I bought a boxed K5 with license from paradigmx and upgraded to K9 a few months back.

I think px and I both bought k5 at the same time a few years ago. Jokes. He has gone all hardware, I've gone 30/70, but going more. We'll see if ni can refund me my maschine purchase, if not, I'm prolly out.

KVRAudio isn't a bad place to sell it if you can't get a refund or sell it here

If you ever settle on that and wanna sell it. Wud u mind keeping in me in mind, m8?

I'd get mad use out of Kontakt, Reaktor, Absynth and Guitar Rig.

I promise it'll be in gud hands. Hands that will occasionally make distorted, 200+ bpm noise. But gud hands nonetheless :3 :3
