Flicky bouncy bass?

Hey,
Can someone please give me some insight into how this mid-range bass is made
From 2:17 - 2:23
My guess is a distorted/freq split reese setup with the high end being modulated - however I'm not sure how to set it up, I've been mucking around with moving EQ bands through Pro-Q and Massive and other synths but to no avail. The bass in the tune sounds (for lack of better description) - really licky? and flicky.
Any help would be much appreciated
