Hi I'm Volatil3, can you give me some feedback/constructive criticism on my latest WIP? I'm not sure what kind of dubstep it is or if it even has a name, I've always called it chillstep but a friend of mine said chillstep is another name for future garage... I'm so confused :? What genre do you think it is? https://soundcloud.com/volatil3-dubstep ... volatil3-1

It's a nice idea but to get that "chill" feel like mitis it needs a more natural feel, i'll give you some ideas on what to change. For the piano i'd suggest playing around with the velocities of the notes to give it a more organic / natural feel. For the drop try adding a bass to go under the saws to fill out the track a bit more. Also to give the drop more movement i would suggest adding some hi-hats to go with the kick and snare.

By add a bass do you mean a subbass with a different melody or same melody?

definitely need some bass under the epic saws after the drop and while also playing with the piano velocities maybe try adding in other notes relevant to the chord and the key of the song so you can outline the sound more specifically. nice work though i like it alot man
