Hey guys ! I am planning on buying a decent microphone for singing. I have the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and just want a microphone that will not break in a day and that will allow me to record my voice without a ton of cracks. I will upgrade in the future but for now I am looking for the best one I can get in the price range of $100 - $150. Cheers!

mine's always been good to me

i'd say your best bet would be a shure sm58- they're the industry standard and work well live too, if you ever need it for that. you might not even have to upgrade it

I think I am going to go with the Studio Projects B1 I heard better things about it and it's cheaper ^o^ What stand do you recommend I get? Also do you know of any good foam to put around the microphone or pop filters? Is there anything else I need for the mic? I have an audio interface already (btw)

I was going to suggest a SM58. They are more the standard for live sound than the studio though. If you are planning to use it in a studio you should think about a condenser mic. I think the Focusrite Scarlett has Phantom Power.

if you have phantom power, consider an ath AT2020 condenser. good cheap mic.

What is the best shock mount I can get for around $100? I am also looking for the best stand and reflector I can get for my Studio Project B1 microphone. I am willing to pay around $200 for the reflector and $100 for the stand.

To anyone reading this in the future, consider an Audio Technica 3035. Used they're around $100 and are a very good mic.

se2200. comes with a suprisingly rad shockmount... and is a much better mic than the studio projects joints.

Naww I am not trolling XD! The B1 is actually $120 and I decided to go with it because of its price. The se2200 is around $400. I am just looking to buy a decent one for my first microphone. As long as it gets the job done then I can master it for better sound. So can somone link me a shock mount for the Studio Project B1 along with a stand and a reflector. Thank you for all the help

You can right this second buy the B1 for $50.

If you want to spend 100 bucks for a mic, you can actually get a pretty good used mic. But you will not get even a decent new condenser for less than two hundo.

Buy a used mic. And consider buying a mic that is modifiable in the future.

Alright I guess I will invest a little extra for a better mic Can you please link me a couple microphones that are recommended by a lot of people that is in the price range of $200 or less.

Everyone should own an sm57. I think for your first mic, that would be the best place to start. You can probably get one for less than $100 new.

I am deciding to go with the SE 2200A

Can someone please link me a reflector and a stand for the SE 2200A that is reasonably priced ? The microphone comes with a nice shock mount so I am set on that.

I could use a pair of sdc, and they've got a pair for a hundo, with hypercardioid capsules for $23 each.
