The even better compressor- and you don't have to steal it.

Further down this board someone mentioned the molot compressor. Its a sweet free plugin with a lot of character.
Here's another free one which I discovered on resounds website, and thought I would spread the word. Compared to molot its a lot more transparent.

Its an amazing plugin. It has a different way of doing things to most- the website explains it best.
One of my favorite things about it is the delta button- when this is triggered it solos the changes you've made so you can hear exactly what you're doing. This is awesome to help you get the compressor working in time with the elements of the track you're working on.

Shit, I already had this idea and thought nobody else had done it before. Now I'm gonna look like a copycat if I implement it in a compressor.

Ideas are cheap Sunk, it is in the realization of those ideas that excellence is to be found.

Perhaps BEST was a bit hyperbolic? Maybe more along the lines of hey this compressor will chew your audio. :O
Will check this one out w/in the next two years.

Is that what that button does? I don't think I've ever pressed it
Anyways, yes, it is a great freebie.

Hyperbole maybe, but if you let that put you off then its your loss! Its not like i'm trying to sell it, just recommending a really good free device.
Its a very transparent device with a lot of control. Smooth and clear. The Ying to a FET or Molots Yang. Doesn't so much chew as gently caress.
Just getting to know it, but really enjoying the effect it has on my master bus.

You missed me homie. I was the op of the other "best compressor thread" and I was referring to my thread title, and Molot. Thanks for posting this up. I've downloaded it, put it into BOTH my 32 and 64 bit vst folders... we'll still see if I have the mental acuity to enable and instantiate it!

Actually did use it. It is the only 64 bit comp I've got on this laptop! I couldn't get it to do what I wanted on a couple of different busses, one a synth buss has some stray hits that are a bit loud, working with a modal synth, and am totally out of control, I guess actually for this purpose it was okay, just leveling out the loop, but I couldn't push it too hard at all. But it didn't work at all to add weight to the drum buss. But I'm slow and was in an alien environment, so we'll see.
