mixdown question

i used to alawys end up clipping with my shitty mixdowns. now i got already at it but i started making beats like like 3 am last night and for some reason my sleep[y brain decided it would be a good idea to have my kick peaking at -34, snares at -30 etc. fuck knows why.
away, shits really quiet, so i just put an EQ on the master and put every channel on full lol the master is like -10 now at its loudest (i forgot the word, is it peaking?) just wondering if this effects audio quality in a negative way? i dont know enough about the sciencey stuff to understand if it will or not.
i pure cannot be arsed to go back and mix it down again cos it sounds alright except for being slightly quiet.

halp

Dafuck? How about putting limiter or maximiser etc instead of eq to master go make the track louder?
Dunno bout the rest

na, dont think i need to use a limiter? literally all i wanna do is bring up all the levels exacty as the are and i was just wondering if it effects audio quality or not

i dunno what daw u use but if its ableton just wack a utility on the master, i end up doing this on pretty much every track i make dunno why just get in the habit of turning everything down while mixing down. As for negative effects, probably some but not enough for me to give a fuck

A transparent limiter is basically just a volume knob until you hit the threshold and you start getting gain reduction.

I don't get it. If you turned shit down to be peaking at -30dbfs, surely you can use the same parameter
to make it louder?
Mixing everything down too low and then putting a limiter on the master to bring it all back up doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

wondering why it took 12 posts for someone to say this. turn all your channels up lol

Turn everything down to zero, bring your kick and or snare to around -12db, and them start brining in elements in importance. 9/10 your going to have a better mix, and you might learn something (not the least of which will be don't mix your track to peak at -30 db)

i cba to mix agaibn lol 2 many channels ):
the track wasnt peaking at -30, just the kick and snare hah. 3 am brain.
normally they are at -12ish.
literally just wondered if just slapping the volume up loads on the master channel is derogatory to audio quality (obv doing it w/o clipping). i understand most basic shizzle but dont understand some sound science :<. i mean it sounded okay but idk if it was
