Anybody still using Albino? Always loved that synth. Fucking incredible envelopes, could always get just that right slide/push/shuffle, what ever you wanna call it. Love the filters too.

But always had a hard time integrating those sounds into tracks, I never really figured out what it was. Don't know if it was aliasing, or what.

Anybody ever have those kinds of troubles with Albino, anybody with love for the old boy?

I thought it was really good, I only stopped using my version because I committed myself to non-pirated software only

Still use it every now and then for nice lush pads and the occasional atmosphere.
Great synth really.

It was one of my first purchases.
It was heavily used in PsyTrance music.
Lush pads are where it's at.

It's one of those syths that got abused for years.
That and ReFX Vanguard.

I mean, does anybody feel like they reached the end of Albino? And moved on to another synth - what is that synth?

Well, to be honest I did move in because I started using Rhino 2.
Which imo is far more lush because of the fm synthesis.
But it still has it's uses.
I do find myself using Z3ta 2 more lately though.

I always found albino quite soft and gentile. never really got anything thumping or gritty from it.

no doubt down to me, i'm really picky at what synths I learn properly, time is precious yo!

Oh, it gets real gritty. Personally think it is actually a really deep synth.

Albino killed time in Dubstep until Massive was released.

Envelopes in Albino are far FAR superior to Massive though. Think the wavetables are better as well.

I just think the learning curve was a tad steeper than Massive.
All this drag n drop business was certainly easier for some.

I suppose so. Massive is my bread and butter, don't let me hate on it too much. But I wish there was an albino 4, like cleaned up. I don't know why but it never sits well, doesn't play well with other sounds. Just me, I'm sure, but there is something to it. Then again, I don't know shit.

Used Rob Papen stuff (including Albino) a lot when I was on FL. Eventually, I moved to Reason and haven't been using VSTs ever since. Still I'd prefer Blue over Albino.

Can't remember for sure, but I think it was filter saturation mode 3, that added shit loads of grittiness

Learning curve on Albino was definitely a bitch. I had a lot less experience with advanced synthesis at that point and would usually just open a preset, dick around with a few things, and keep it if I liked it. Got frustrated not being able to truly control it as well as I wanted to tho, at the time.

These days I have a little more experience under my belt... but even less time to figure such stuff out, so... yeah.

Predator was pretty dope too. Made 'nuff ruff jungle b-lines in that sum'bitch.

Yeah both of those synths were fire, but also murky. Albino though... I wouldn't call advanced. It is a substractive architecture, so a few oscs, into a couple of filters, with a few envelopes and lfo's, followed by an fx section (that is actually pretty bad imo). Wrinkle is the oscs can do va or digital. There are a few little really powerful bonuses throughout the architecture, though, that make it really powerful, imo. Like some of the osc settings, filter types, and those really really good envelopes.
