I'm working on my first song that will have guitars and such in it. I'm trying to "simulate" quick guitar strumming through midi as if somebody were strumming up and down with mute strings in quick succession, but I can't get it. I would record my friend doing it, but I don't have anyway to record a clean clip, let alone record at all. If someone could tell me how to do so through midi, or even bouncing it down to audio and chopping it up there, that'd be great. A good example of what I'm referring to is right at 1:00 of this song. Also, I've tried shortening the release to 0 on the NNXT sampler for the guitar, but it still doesn't sound right. Thanks in advance.

Youre never going to get a good sound out of MIDI. Trust me, ive tried. Ive been playing for 10 years and it always sounds shit if i try to emulate it. Tell me what chords you want and ill record them for you. Ive been meaning to upload a new guitar toolkit anyways (i have a bunch of single notes i recorded a while ago uploaded around here somewhere.)

Lmao
I'm not quite strong in music theory, even though I am taking a class on it at my school, but I can tell you the notes. And even upload a screenshot if that does anything.

Vir2 has a guitar instrument that sounds pretty convincing. Lots of articulations and scripting so it doesn't sound like you're just triggering samples from midi.
That's an F Major 7 btw

I just can't get behind guitar "romplers". Iirc, you're a guitar player also, so you know what I'm talking about.
Op, if you don't mind an electric guitar (les Paul with EMG's), I can record a clean version for you.

Yeah most of the time it's just easier to record yourself but I was pretty impressed. The scripting engine in Kontakt allows a lot of detailed modelling past just triggering sampled notes.

Where's the major in there? Genuine question, stupid as it sounds. Is it just implied from having the root, 5th and 7th?

Its bascally a F major chord with an added 7th degree. F Maj is F, A, C (I, III, V) and the 7th would be E (VII). If you took that A and made it A flat ( minor 3rd) than it would become a minor chord ( F min 7).

The seventh is major. I suppose since the third isn't present you could construe it as a minor/major7 but those are a bit fucked.
