Not a bad start, an atmospheric pad synth in the background might fill out the rest of the ambient space nicely but still retain the dark, sparse vibe.

Yeah this is nice. I think the conga type drums (the ones that come in earliest) could do with a touch more reverb.and I'd be tempted to take a little bit off the upper mids in the overall mix. Good though!
