immersion in the salty sea

quicksliver ocean
not much swell
but refreshingly 20 degrees
bodysurfing the occasional lump
teflon smooth
and romping back out
to continue the chat

I'm currently in the ocean every second day
unless there's a decent swell
in which case I'm being swallowed
rumbled along reefs and sand
till expelled gulping

Here's space for your fantasizing or actuality.

The sea, the ocean
your being in it or under it,
even vicariously
trying to reconcile an ancestor's drowning
or slip along the towpath.

the water's deep and dangerous
come in, join me.

It's only when you can no longer touch the bottom that you realise just how deep you can go

Swimming naked in the sea is the one. Lots of nudist beaches around Cabo de Gata :Q:

My ex would swim anywhere BUT the Sea... took her to my parents place near Malaga a few years ago, might as well have taken her to Brockwell Lido.

Fuck the sea and salty water in general. Beaches are stupid, with their stupid sand and stuff.

Not a fan of them in this country, it's only hot enough for like 2 weeks a year and then they're too crowded. If I was on holiday somewhere like Seychelles though you know I'll be on that beach all day

Yeah, it's less of an effort when you've got the beach at the bottom of your garden, so to speak

One could say that the nicest beach I've ever been to was on this uninhabited island in the middle of the Red Sea; white sands and super clear water. Everyone was like "ooh, aah" and "#wow" but I was like "#lamezone".

Salt water makes my skin feel weird and I *hate* sand between my toes.

So jealous, I really miss living next to the sea, haven't been bodyboarding in a long time.

strangely despite being a surfer since childhood
I haven't really liked beaches till recently
(a kind of surfing snobbery about reef breaks having heavier waves)
and disliked sunshine so much that i'd usually surf before sunrise in summer
plus I hate sailing or being out at sea.

never got into diving cos I fucked my ears up swimming in polluted water when young

anybody done the Red Sea float-above-water?

sorry to hear that Finj...you must miss it.
but I've spent years inland & travelled up to 900km on weekends just for a wave

Moonlight on the beach, quiet and noisy.

:U:

Sign me up for loving the beach, ocean. Sailing, fishing, spear fishing, swimming, diving, boogie boarding, the whole shebang. Rigorous environment though.
