crisis - I need opinions - please help

Another stray cat showed up...about a week and a half ago...
I had planned to get him up to speed with cut rate shots
and then get him to a rescue
-the local ASPCA cannot take animals right now
because of a pit bull situation
So Sat. I discover he has an injured leg
- and today I take him to our family vet...
and now I have these 2 options...by law
euthanize in 10 days - or quarantine for 6 months
and by quarantine - I mean I have to build a cage...
that makes all physical contact impossible...
I won't even be able to pet this cat while he is incarcerated....
I am steadily cursing my born-again neighbors and their -
unattended stray cat colony...
They are all pro-life until they have to pay for medical...
Just like shit ass back woods jesus republicans...
I might just fire up that full sized - grape vine cross they have
pegged up by their front door...
I am so mad. I need a really big drink right now...
and a backpack...so I can become a transient in southern india
...or some shit.
Don't talk to me about anything right - go silent.

i think you have to ask yourself do you really have the time and resources to look after a badly injured cat, which has to stay permanently caged, for 6 months. i don't think many people honestly do
i feel you've done your best for this cat but it ultimately is a badly injured stray and you can't save all of them

Thats a tough decision to make. A bit harsh to put the cat to sleep for an injured leg. 6 months quarantine sounds insane though.

I didn't mean go silent and not give me your take on the situation...
I mean't that as a transient in southern india...
I will feign a vow of silence in order to discourage
you know - everything
...of this world

No his leg is fine...or will be after this round of antibiotics...
The issue is that a cat without proof of rabies vaccination
- who shows up with a "bite" of undetermined origin
must either be euthanized or quarantine for 6 months
- my vet has to report it...
and someone from animal services will show up shortly
to authorize my quarantine cage...
I'm just being a hippie - I really don't want to put this guy down....
He's super nice and very well socialized....
FUCK

Luckily in England we dont have to worry about rabies. Can the vet not do some sort of blood test, or do you have to quartine non the less due to animal laws?

Get a few planks tied together, go to your nearest coast with it and set the cat floating away into eternity imo

At this point they can't vaccinate him or do anything that draws blood...
...and I can't send him on a raft because technically,
I'm liable for him as of - the vet visit....
I will have to show proof of euthanasia or be liable....
My Dad's gonna come back from his cruise and freak.
He's gonna force me to take him...
I should build an entire jungle gym for him
in the rafters of my Dad's garage...
I'd hear about it for the next 6 years of my life -
rrrrrrerrrr rrrreeerrrr reeeerrrrrrrr cats rrrrreeeeer

i like the raft idea, i have this image of the cat floating off and finding a tropical island full of other animals society didn't want, living happily ever after...
like that futurama episode where bender goes to the island full of obsolete robots
could you not just lie about quarantining it and keep it normally till you can get it sorted for vacccines
