Hey guys!

I really want to get my kicks sounding like a lot artists do with their kick drums in a lot of Big Room, Trap, Festival Trap tracks, etc.

Here are a few examples.

Their kicks seem to layer over the sub bass seamlessly, and don't mess with any of the frequencies of the sub bass, and are more of a "click" than a "punch".

What is the best way to go about getting these results? Up until now I've always prefered using really punch kicks, with not much high end at all, but the more "clicky" kicks are growing on me.

you need to learn how to layer a kick, which apparently you already know what you like, with sub bass...Keeping in mind how sub bass can be modulated to give you the effect you want. Use EQs, and compression to make something 'fit' together..

I watched some masterclass or whatever with Martin garrix maybe, and he was using one really clicky layer, and one kinda mid layer kick then a sub bass. That way there is kinda a filler between the click and the sub without having to resort to sub harmonics and a muddy mix.

Alright guys, so now that I better understand the clicky sounding kick / bass combo more.'

What about layering a thumpy kick, that still has some low end in tact, with the sub bass...

Here's a sample of what I have going on right now..

It's still not where I want it to be, the bass isn't flowing like "seamlessly" from the kick how I want it to.
