hi all
looking for a new audio conversion software program to convert my 24bit 96khz FLACs to 320kbps 44kHz MP3s. i've been using freemake audio converter but more times than not recently it's been causing blips and other unknown sounds in the converter files. i had a look at switch plus but the free version doesn't let you set the kHz of it... anyone aware of a program that allows me to do this?
cheers

Xact is what you are looking for. Its a high quality audio conversation tool. Select the lossy tab to acess mp3. It also converts flac to wav and includes tags beautifully.
edit also flac to mp3 and batch conversion

Trader's Little Helper. It's originally a multi tool for bootleg makers and traders. It can convert wav <-> shorten, ape, flac, mp3, create checksums, torrent files, and it can handle high resolution wavs.

I'm using Free Audio Convertor. It has pretty much all audio formats. If you get this make sure when you install it, not to let it install some stupid search engine as your default.

If you would like to convert your audio from one format to another, Max can read and write audio files in over 20 compressed and uncompressed formats at almost all sample rates and and in most sample sizes.

you CANNOT add to compressed files. Once the file is compressed to lower qualities its done

I don't think that's what he's trying to do, but yeah.

Actually FLAC is different. It works like a zip file, it decompresses the audio whilst its playing. for example. If I were to encode a 16bit 44.1khz .WAV file to flac, and then convert it back to wav (usung the same conversion tool I guess) It would be bit for bit exactly the same. Read about it here -
