but I've suspected a few may have thought so
when I didn't come on to invitations.
If it's a casual meeting, it's probably easier to be thought gay than unnecessarily hurt someone
but it's trickier with longer-term acquaintances.
a bit off topic:
A person has just won the legal right in Australia to be neither male nor female.
The day may soon come where we don't have to declare being straight, gay, bi or asexual
because, ideally, we'd sexually respond in whatever one-on-one way seemed appropriate.
Which still wouldn't solve the problem of what to do when you don't requite somebody's attraction to you.
