anyone else bothered by blatant plagiarism in traxx? i don't mean some random similarities or genre-specific "basic" sounds and samples, but actual ripping off? i mean am i the only one who thinks this:
is a infuriatingly lazy rip off of this:
so much that it sounds almost like a cover lol they didnt even bother to change the chords, except for the last one or something. the vocal melody is also pretty similar. i can understand you're feeling the jai paul track and wanna make something similar but get a fuking grip.
now that i look at it there's someone stating this in the comments of the first track but its instantly shot down by a couple of mongs with completely ridiculous arguments

i know is a tribute or whatever but at least put remix rework or whatever. plus burial adds nothing to the tune imo tbh

I actually do like both tunes, but Injuction definitely rips it off.

Clearly rips the sample off from:
all he's done is slowed it down and added some sub bass

This happened to me. Someone soundcloud ripped a short clip of a WIP I'd posted, and lowpassed it, added some drums, and some other melodies to it.
At first I was almost anoyed, but afterwards, and before I responded to their message, I was quite chuffed to have been a part of their process.
dont wanna be a dik but lot of misunderstanding in this topic. i jus wana comment on some of your posts
@jesslem: feel bad for ya breh but that isn't really plagiarism. it's sampling
so is the case of changes / holy water (although im not sure was u serious with that post). zomby used the original reark song (same project file?) as the basis when making that track
the forget me nots / men in black and regulate / michael macdonald
well yeh they're obviously plagiarized but they're so cheeky and down to the spot 1:1 that i'm sure it's not even supposed to sound like a different song, it's sort of a "parody" in a type of way for a lack of a better word.
whereas the song i posted just reeks of unoriginality, it's like i can see the guy who wrote that just listening to the jai paul song thinking that it bangs and thinkin they just wanna create something like that so bad.. then at one point he noticed he had written almost the same exact song and thot that ok it sounds remotely different here goes...
???
Profit
i know i been there. myriad of times i've wanted to recreate some specific tune without sounding too much like it, always end up making more or less the exact same tune and having to bin it. what's interesting tho is that at what point these acts of plagiarism turn in to stylistic pastiches that are characteristic to a certain genre or style of music or help to create one

I really don't care about any of this tbh. I listen to tunes to be amused, not to get aggy over someone's creative ethics. A good sound is a good sound. Would I like someone to plagiarize my shit? No obviously not, but from an entertainment point of view, it really doesn't affect me

Even otherwise, It's like getting aggy at FlyLo for this:
Because of this:
Like, how could you not recognize that that's how music works? People who listen to each other, or even similar stuff, are going to produce works that are similar. Some people emulate for an ode's sake.

Pretty sure he always denied it, but Midnight Request Line's lead is a direct copy of the intro music to the film Catch Me If You Can.
