synopsis: "stop spending money on stuff and buy more records instead."

the people buying vinyl already spend as much money on records as they reasonably can afford. the people not buying vinyl won't start doing so because an industry they have no connection to is slowly failing. this argument is dumb.

There is a problem. Rising prices and falling demand is always a problem in a struggling industry but you can't expect people to act counter-intuitive to price rises.

I've not been buying records that long but even I've seen a pretty big increase in prices.

Yep.

The issue isn't that people aren't buying vinyl, it's that vinyl is expensive so not so many people are able to release on it or buy as much of it.

I'm just glad that redeye has the reserve function. Us folks in the USA would be breaking the bank if we couldn't reserve.
