What kind of sights/things hit you deeply?

Thread is fairly self-explanatory. What kind of things, make you reconsider your position and really thing about what you have in life. I ponder this thought often when see certain things.

I just saw what appears like, from my window anyway, a disable homeless man on a wheel chair, which appeared tremendously hard for him evident by the fact he it took him around 1 min to cover what would have taken 5/10 seconds for a normally person.

Reminds me that i am grateful for the semi-function body I have.

For me it was when I was like thirteen and I went past a Mcdonalds and saw this massively obese kid sat there eating a huge burger on his own. I think I actually stared at him for about five minutes, I can still see his smiling face chomping away.

I have not had a mcdonalds since

Found this pic of my 92 year old granddad, when he was younger than i am now, never really thought of my granddad as ever being my age.

Also when my dog (current avatar) was put down last week, we put away his jumper (he was so skinny at the end he shivered all the time) and our 6 month old puppy got it out and brought it to me in the evening :crybaby:

^ In a similar vein to Hutyluty: On holiday in the Dominican Republic, one afternoon we went to a local bakery and got big slices of chocolate cake. After we came out of the shop we saw a skinny homeless guy raking through the flooded gutters with his bare hands... My sister said after she felt bad about eating her cake, I didn't though. Was tasty.

I remember seeing a guy in Leeds somewhere in the back streets near the train station I think sitting on some steps, just holding a can of beer kind of listlessly at his side while he was looking up at the sun. He looked homeless, unshaven, yet so happy and content with his beer in the sun, a proper look of contentment and a smile on his face...

thinking about death shakes me to my core. I remember i was 8 years old and my uncle had died. At the funeral I was walking by and saw my cousin (his dad) whos the same age as me crying uncontrollably. I guess it was at that moment when i realized how permanent death is and to this day it really gets to me

sometimes i think what if one of my brothers died, think i'd be a mess, they're the only people i know that i feel i can fully relate to. fuck. thinking about the distant future when everyone you know will eventually die is fucking depressing.

A few months ago, this guy in my year randomly died one night due to some vein in his heart bursting I think. It was so weird cause I remember seeing him the Friday before and he was just like so happy and stuff. Made me realize how easily anyone can die even if you know them (if that makes sense)

:Q: To be honest i feel like this. At the same time I also feel for sorry for death for the shit i'm going to put him through on the other side. In the end the tnuc will probably try to bring me back to life cause wont be able to cope with my shit.

I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.

TBH the fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time

Slightly plagiarised post
