How to get rid of "hum" from Ohmicide

Usually when I process growl basses i like to distort them with Ohmicide. It makes the growl overall sound good but it also adds some unwanted artifacts. How can i prevent this while still keeping the full sound that the distortion gives me?

be more specific, do you mean like a dull roar or squealing sound that doesn't stop afterwards? if so, you need to dial down the feedback parameter a bit or use the noise gate's parameters (i.e. turn up the threshold on the bands that are running with lots of feedback) to try to rein the tail in, but your description isn't totally clear, I mean, it's distortion, to an extent, artifacts are to be expected, it could be the hum of a distortion unit, feedback, lots of things!

To be more specific, in the original patch there is a little bit of unwanted noise (not really sure whats causing it) and after adding Ohmicide the noise becomes way more audible.

well, in that case I'd try to figure out whats going on in the original patch, since it sounds like Ohmicide is just exacerbating a pre-existing issue!, not creating a new one!

KK will do. Its just weird tho cuz barely alive made the patch and i downloaded it from their Facebook. It makes me wonder if that noise was in their song as well but I just couldn't hear it

Notch out the frequencies on the way into the the distortion, also using the mix knob on ohmicide can really help.

oh boy..if you're using fl studio just make sure what vst you have before ohmicide.for example if you first use fruity reverb first and then ohmicide...ohmicide gonna distord everything even the reverb and will sound like shit.just try to put ohmicide first.idk

Have you tried scanning for the particular frequency/frequencies with an EQ and turning them down? Also, I've found that instead of turning one distortion plugin all the way up, using a bunch of really subtle distortions in sequence sounds better. That's just my opinion though.
