Hey there! in a couple of months im gonna start making a new dubstep event but im really having trouble with finding a good name for my event any suggestions?

Big sound systems are important to dubstep so maybe "System"?

Really depends on what kind of dubstep night really. You should probably think about what kinda atmosphere you want at your night and go from there.

I quite like "Contact" as a name tho, try that?

Especially with the rather violent grime scene at the moment, you might want to make a statement with the night's name. This will also work in your favour when trying to get approval for your night from the authorities... Think of something anti-violent. Demilitarized Zone, for example.

But use the acronym DMZ for more street cred.

Less is more. Simple and unpretentious beats attempted high concept almost every time.

Howzabout:

if you intend to present some new, fresh sounds, that are completely different to what everyone else plays, the name of your event should suggest just that, but in a subtle way of course. maybe call it 'forward'? or just FWD!

I'd look at how the scene is today, what the culture is like, what do the kids want etc, and go from there.

What is the dubstep scene like at the moment? Not very strong IMO. So your name should be something like "Rebuild", cus you'd be be rebuilding the scene.

And what do the kids like instead of dubstep? Trap music, for the most part. So you should spell your name in that modern cool spelling that DZ and A$AP and such use. Replace A's and U's with V.

How about RECONSTRVCT or something?

I'd use one of them. Especially Mobot

Imo dubstep can be quite aggressive, so your night should represent that, maybe have a mini sound clash between the DJs. So it'll kinda be like a war between everywhere, a war fought with dubstep, so maybe call your night 'Dub War' cause Dub sounds cooler than just dubstep
