I see techno mentioned a lot. Benga's got Electro Musik on Newstep. Anyone here, like me, who used to get they're dark vibe bass fix from the likes of 2 Lone Swordsmen, Drexcyia, Voice stealer?
Not electro house mind, thats tame hard house for shiny folk in shiny pants.

yeah i'm well into drexciya, arpanet's inertial frame was my favourite album from last year. loads of electro is just as heavy as dubstep.

also it's a shame people are so down on the recent dopplerefekt things, they aren't going to go back to the dataphysix style electro, get over it.

I was born into Electro, from the early 80's, have'nt really listened to anything recently tho. I'm listening to that podcast thing right now, and it's bringing it all back, truss!
Jusat today I was listening to some 'Bambatta' and 'Hashim' with a touch of 'Mantronix', so this new stuff is breath of fresh air.
Lastly, I always like my beats rolling, love mixing them as well............................................
Tanks for the link bro, your Big!

Am a big fan of dark/deep electro (wee djs, carl finlow, drexciya, 2LS, volum, volsoc, simulant, cane) and mix it up in my sets. The old skool electro is good, but the glitchy newer stuff is what I tend to buy.
Worth checking out ScanOne's halfstep electro tune
"Atlas"
if you're looking for stuff in this style
a few electro / steppy mashups:

Class

, I knew somebody had to be mixing this shit up, on the DL, Stormfield thanks man. 2 Lone Swordsmen's album tiny reminders has an electro track with a fat wobble bassline high in the mix, every bassline on the album is a winner. Radioactive Man's corrugated iron bass track is for forever. Have to mention Depth Charge i wish he'd do dubstep.

not all of their stuff... but look at what S.A.G. and D.T.L. are doing...
(S.A.G.=Secret Agent Gel :: D.T.L.=Drop The Lime)
ps. the remix DTL did on my 12" from last year is all in it...

definitely have to co-sign on SAG's stuff. he's got that miami bass bump to most of his tunes; and especially his remixes which are fire.

used to be well into direct beat records, early ectomorph, detroit electro orchestra, twilight 76 records, sole tech, and all the ghetto tec standards..
one of the main things i like about dubstep is how all these different styles blend together much like the ghetto tec and electro djs like assault were doing it in the mid 90s. it was exciting to hear an old carl craig tune mixed into ruffage cru mixes into miami bass into whatever came next. that had a big influence on me.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of all that glitchy illectro stuff as well as the classic freestyle/electro hip hop stuff. Seems to be plenty of that type of sound in dubstep. Check this mix by Teflon Jacket, some seriously ill electro:
