Audio here: http://www.triplevision.nl/release/SHACD010/ and on redeye: http://www.redeyerecords.co.uk/vinyl/56 ... full-album

What do you think? Personally I thnk there's some really strong dubstep tunes on there, straight bangers. The DnB stuff I can take or leave with the exception of one or two tunes. Thoughts?

checked the previews on redeye yesterday and not feeling it at all. i just think icicle's sound got more and more techy and lost a lot of soul. those dubstep tunes don't do anything for me, but some of the dnb bits are just awful.

Jaysus, Icicle's down the well and I don't think he'll be gettin' back up any time soon. Him playing at Tomorrowland was enough of a sign of what this release was gonna sound like. baddis98 is right, far too tech-y and no soul.

isn't it funny how it doesn't sound like "tomorrowland music" at all?

Not purely but it certainly is a deviation from his older sound

the techno references were always there. it's just another step in the direction he chose for his sound five years ago.
the tunes he and Proxima were playing at Outlook all worked really well in the Moat's dark, loud and claustrophobia-inducing setting; the two album's won't be for everyone, but dismissing them beforehand seemsa bit strong.

just checked this one out. wack for the most part imo

problem is a paint by the numbers half tempo banger w/ a mancunian mc. and its dubstep counterpart, hypervelocity; typical youngsta fodder from 2-3 years ago
acidic sounds like something amit would have made 10 years ago
amp and want it are the best tunes on this but they're ruined by the ultra clean production
the rest is just fucking awful and/or confusing
like the strong excision x datsik cca 2009-2010 vibes on mechanisms or the stereotypical post-dubstep influences on hanni

Saw him dj two weeks ago and the tracks went off. Dont really like the album but after hearing it out I cant deny that they are good dance tracks.

Regularly listen to his old stuff but I wouldnt play this at home, too artificial/clean as you said.
