Advice on studio acoustics please

So, I've finally acquired myself some studio space! Well, it's kind of a 'semi' studio at the moment, but it's a studio nonetheless and its far away from the missus and our little one - so I can finally crack on in peace!!

As it stands the walls are bare and it's not been acoustically treated. I've never had to delve into acoustics before as I've always been a bedroom producer.

The room I have is approx. 8m X 5m. What would I need in terms of treating it acoustically. I've been looking online and seen this kit on ebay, would it do the job?

Any advice on acoustics would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

As for speaker placement, have your setup close to one of the 5m walls, but not directly at the wall. Have the speakers at 60°, tweeters at ear level.
And most importantly treat the areas of first reflections, which are the spots where the sound from the speakers first hits the walls.

That foam looks pretty good. U should have a look around for second hand first if u know anyone though cos u could stand to pick up something like that for 30 quid.

Rear walls, and ER points as a start. if possible ceiling. then look at the reading/sine wave test (either meter reading/REW reading/walk around the room and listen out for the loudest build up...and trap accordingly).

All acoustic treatment products have their place, but i would definitely give some consideration into a higher density absorber for bass trapping (or broadband absorption), the product you have linked shows it to be 25kg/m3 density absorbing roughly 11% of 125hz upwards in test conditions. The top end would benefit it would seem, and you will hear the difference there, but with the low-end still bouncing around, it may cause more issues than it solves. deffo worth looking into.
