How would you go about making a 4 track EP?

Would you just make one track at a time or just simply make all 4 at the same time and bounce around from track to track?
I want to make it progressively darker, so Im not sure what the best course of action would be, but I guess it's all just personal preference.

Whatever works for you tbh, chances are that the first 4 tracks you make won't all necessarily be on the final product as you may end up making multiple tracks and then choosing the 4 that fit best

Yeah my EP's have never come about from consciously writing specifically for them. It's usually a case of nailing 'em out till I get a few which sound good and work we'll together (also if you have an interested label they may help decide for you by picking their faves)

If you want to make it progressively darker make one track after the other. You could make it interesting by changing the keys so they all flow together and you can mix one in after the other so it sounds sick.

That's what I was thinking yeah, I want it to flow, almost like a story and I think making a collection of 6 or 7 songs and chosing the 4 best probably wouldn't work

Just produce and produce..
The only thing I do is make sure the noise is constant..
Give it a similar vibe and the ep/lp.. will come together
try not to overthink it
