i can make some pretty sick basses in massive by fuckin with the phase in the oscilater modulation and turning it up octavves but i was wondering how would i go about getting the same effect in reason.. like i could make an effect combinator and put it on my existing basses and on wav samples in nnxt. but i dont know how i would go about doing this. any ideas?

He wants to emulate the phase modulation of Massive using Reason (which can't run VSTis).

the phaze modulation in thor is completely diffrent...... in massive u have ur existing wavetable... u have chosen.and the phaze oscilater only changes ur original sound slightly.. its not a oscilator on its like in thor.... it simply colours ur existing sound... gives it a bit of dirt.... and then u can put it up 7 semitones or 12 semitones... it still sounds like the original wavetable its completely diffrent... someone in this forum must know this stufff

U can do it in subtractor by automating the phase knobs. U need to be on the - or + setting first tho

hm pretty lame that reason does not run vst but in my opinion there is always a way to recreate typical structures. if you know how your synth is working you can recreate it, its like "emulate malstroem with massive" which i used to try, its not possible to recreate it 1 by 1 but actually you can go quite near to it

Propellerhead Software is lame. Only thing that keeps Reason from sinking is the amount of hardcore fans who are ready to pay over 120$/€ for updates which doesn't do anything.

yeah youre right. im using ableton and are heavily satisfied. the only thing i like in reason is the malstroem synth because of the mix of wavetable and granular synthesis. i wish there will be a vst with do the same

I thought the new version of Reason is vst compatible now

Wow. Very grown up. Reason doesn't use vsts to save on CPU and to make sure the program is 100% percent stable. Its very powerful espescially when rewired thru another daw. Anyway other than subtractor I haven't managed to do it. Although I'm sure there must be a phase control in Thor.
