calling ye olde cassette tape boffins

Hi guys! Eventually I will finish enough beats to put together a beat tape. It will be online for free but I also want to make some solid copies on tapes because I can pish the signal and get it sounding gnarly and old. Plus it would be nice to have. I can buy these for a tenner and you get 100 used cassettes:

What would be the best way to record over these? Would I need to erase them first in case my tape deck isn't aligned the same as the original recorder? Or will it not matter so much? Also will the signal be affected by left over artifacts if I tape over an already used cassette? Cheers guys

Yeah, tape over it with nothing first, then your shit, so that there are less artifacts.
