Definately definately not a waste of time! You can get good noises out of Reason for sure. What do you mean by whomp noise though?

Still not 100%, but get a subtractor going, get a sine (the smooth wave) and a square wave dropped down an octave or two, some low pass filter and away you go, just fiddling and tweaking til you get the sound you're after. Theres a lot lot more before it sounds as proper as i imagine you want it to but thats a start

This is what I do:

Add the mastering suite aboue the mixer in reason3.

then ad the mastering suite eq to nearly everything instrument you use - epcially drums n bass. compresser too. but be subtle.

I still think reason sounds a bit poo compared to cubase, but other prople use it and get a good sound...so im soldiering on cos i like the useablity of the programme.

For a rough idea of how to set things up if ur unsure re. the mastering suite - check the demo song set up.

(haha someone should do a dubstep remix of the reason demo song)

Dont use the mixer. Or an arbituary array of "processors", only use that stuff when / if its needed . . . work on yr sounds first & use dem summing busses instead . . . :D

how do you not use the mixer? don't you need that to adjust the volumes of each track?

plus eq'ing stuff is pretty standard isn't it? need to boost certain freq's and take do high pass/low pass cuts n stuff??

think the bass from super sharp shooter was a sample off a Jungle Warfare CD..... or perhaps zero-g just recreated it... Which came first? Jungle Warfare Vol.1 or Super Sharp Shooter?
