Mosh Pits@Dubwar

In the following weeks and days since the last two dubwars ive been speaking to people and this phenomena continues to be the topic of conversation. I decided that its now become a serious enough issue to post it on the forum. I am all in favour of a heavy skank or a serious brock out but i ask that people be conscientious of the folks they share the dance floor with. One girl told me how she was in her groove only to be rudely interrupted by a HARD elbow to the chin for which there was no apology or even recognition of wrong doing. Additionally, there are people who i have invited to dubwar and the feedback i get is that they love the music, the club and the people but the moshing is a major turn off. One of the attributes i love about dubstep and the scene is the sense of community and id hate to lose that.

People moshing at a dubstep rave, lol!
Do they thrash their mullets about and everything?
Sorry man, shouldn't laugh.... and yeah, twattish behaviour like
that doesn't belong at dubstep. A contradiction in terms really!!

i dunno. we got one started at bass goes boom a few months ago, but it was more jumping up and down and bumping each other as we laughed our asses off, rather than thrashing about to hurt people.
depends on how physical peeps are getting. i find it quite silly and refreshing as long as it doesn't get all crazy hardcore and mean.

rather strange... how do you mosh to dubstep? seriously... I mean I've had my fare share of moshing... but usually that would require for at least a guitar up on stage...

Yeah, my 'twattish' comment was a bit harsh. As long as you aren't
physically intruding on strangers then whatever floats yer boat. Do
find the idea of moshpits at dubstep raves quite funny though!!

Long as people ain't going over the top and spoiling other peoples night its all bless. Still if I got smashed in the face during a skank and didn't get a "ah sorry boss" I'd be well vexed.

i feel the same, a nice crazy bunch of people getting so excited about a tune the jump around that hard it gets mangelous, all good if there is no hurt or anything.
all good, same kind of pits can be found at more folk music.
just grab a buddy or any person by the shoulder and go nuts..
its getting quite common in holland now, but only on the most rediclous things like spongebob, rusko or new bug material.
also some guys want to start one at any harder tune and thats silly, and when i tell them they tend to respect that.
i think i can find some footage, will post when i do..

i used to listen to alot of hardcore/metal music and i've been to dubwars. I think its just the same energy level that is reached in dubwars is the same as in a metal concert is what gets some of the people going.
but still no excuse for people actin a fool

yes i have ben in a wall of death actually, Hellfest NYC, Lamb of God

dudes seem like they having fun, so its hard to be mad at it, and i will sometimes forcefully rush through people towards the front to call rewinds and smack on walls (altho employing club manouver skills, but there is the occasional casualty aka drink splashige and toe stepping).....
but yeah i def avoid the dubwar moshpits, never really felt inclined to bang into other sweaty dudes at the dance.. kinda dig skanking in my zone, or grooving with a female
i say, guys, try and make the ladies feel more comfortable, yall enthusiasm is great, but in the dance its goddess time imho...
one

only went to one dubwar and there was no moshing, but generally speaking i'm for it.
is moshing the one where you just push each other around? or is it the one where you punch the air like crazy?
i'm for the first one rather than the second one.
also, drinks don't belong on the dance floor.
edit: drinks always get spilled and then i can't go barefoot, and also people start sliding around if they try and do some footworking.
