was just listening to that february dmz essential mix and was totally flashed by that loefah track. Does anybody know if or when this one is gonna be released?

total stomper. haven't heard anything about a release yet. there's a whole slew of loefah tracks which need to be released. not least mud and ruffage and of course, this.

Bad tune. Slew dem on Friday. Stack of Loefah gear coming, I hope.

Loefah is due some stuff out on DMZ methinks, so fingers X'ed for DMZ009...

DMZ 009 isnt coming for a while.....

I want a Loefah-Album. Why isn't Rephlex doing one, they were already releasing his tracks on that grime-one.

loefah was/is working on one for tempa but these things get longed out.

Tune's ridiculous

So many DMZ-related tracks are going to get left by the wayside though if they keep releasing on only one label every couple of months. Hopefully Soul Jazz will pick up some more

He said in the blackdown interview that that was on hold.. something about not being ready for a full length yet. Who knows though.

Things come out when they feel right. Soul Jazz isn't the only label looking to work with DMZ and Loefah, but these things take time, especially when you look at how busy these guys are - they don't physically have much time to finish tunes and sort out releases.

Speaking as a fan, I want to see them bang out some mini-albums and live CDs, just using existing tracks, then get a polished, proper first "artist" albums out in the Autumn. Cos, I think that to grow their primary vinyl and gigs markets they need to capitalise on current interest with some CDs.

I think I'd cry if some of these tunes came out on CD only

I doubt it'd happen though... Mystikz and Loefah seem to be pretty into vinyl over CDs as a format.

definitely... i think it'd really sad if things started getting release only on mix cds. The same thing has happened in grime with the evolution of the mixtape, which has coincided with me losing some of my interest. If you can't buy the records and mix em yourself, its easy to feel excluded from the scene, which is the antithesis of what dubstep is about...

I do definately rate that attitude, and think its important to keep releasing on vinyl, but at the same time i can see it might just not be feasible to get everything out on vinyl, and bringing out cds is a good way to let people get the music without the same overheads as vinyl presses. And i think the thing chef and darkside are doing is a sick idea.

Also cds and mp3s are integral to having a completely inclusive scene, allowing those who dont dj or have decks or the cash to acquire any such things to fully enjoy the music. Having said all that, i will be gutted if some old dmz bits dont make it to plastic, my collection will feel incomplete without at least changes and forgive! Its all about a balance i reckon

I didn't buy vinyl for many years and I'm starting to really enjoy it, but I sometimes wonder if it's worth the money for spinning these on my old belt drive.

I think that mp3s in particular are a good way too keep up with releases, without ruining yourself entirely. I could never afford to buy everything I wanted on vinyl.

I'm too poor for vinyl.... lol


But on the other hand , I rate Artist albums WELL over mix cds that have
an in-built sell by date. I'd rather buy things that earn a permanent place in my collection.

I dont think that mix cds are anymore disposable than artist albums, I do think that most electronic *dance* music loses some thing integral in *artist* albums . . . There are, of course, good n bad examples of both.

I would like to see more unmixed compilations personnly.
