Hailing from the East Coast of the USA is Dub Police newcomer Notixx. After creating a massive bootleg remix of the Caspa and Subscape track ‘Geordie Racer’, which immediately grabbed the attention of Dub Police head honcho Caspa, he was quickly snapped up to put together an EP for the label. Taking elements of Trap, Dubstep, Hip Hop and Drum & Bass to create his unique sound, Notixx has put together his impressive three tracker debut EP for Dub Police; ‘Last Call’.
First up is the massive ‘Last Call’ fusing elements of Trap and Dubstep to create a catchy and energetic bass fuelled beast. This track is guaranteed to do the damage on any dancefloor, and has been a mainstay in Caspa’s sets on his recent ‘500’ tour across North America. Notixx takes things darker with Trap banger ‘Rock Bottom’ combining clever beat programming, nasty mid range bass and haunting synth lines. ‘Heartbreak 2014’ brings proceedings to an epic close; again flirting with Trap and Hip Hop influences to create an emotional 175 halftime BPM roller laced with pianos, tight snappy beats and booming 808’s.
Keeping in line with Dub Police’s tradition of providing a platform for new talent, Notixx is most certainly an artist with an exciting future ahead of him, and we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
