Iration Steppas, King earthquake, The disciples, Jah Tubbys, Operation sound system are some names to start on if you feel the UK sound.

Keith Hudson - Brand
Yabby U - King Tubby's Prophesy of Dub
Joe Gibbs & The Professionals - No Bones For The Dogs
Those are heavy.

Go for the trojan dub boxed sets, there are at least two, with 50 tracks on each, for around a tenner, absolutely wicked. Vinyl and CD available i think.
Christmas is standard stock up on trojan boxed sets time, love that label.

as a starting point i'd definitely recommend the blood and fire compilations, dubwise & otherwise volumes 1 and 2. can't think of a bad track on either.

Lloyd "Bullwackie" Barnes.
The Basic Channel guys have been reissuing steadily from the Wackies catalog. Any of the Bullwackies All-Stars releases (Dub Unlimited, Free For All) are well worth your money.

There are over 150 King Tubby albums out there, add around a 100 of Lee Perry products, start collecting eh.
We are talking about 30+years of musical production,
check out everyting out on Blood & Fire label, it's a collection of musical gems.
Go to the On-U-Sound for raw dub experryments, switch to Conscious Sounds for "Classic" UK steppa dubs.
Check versionist.com for fresh underground stuff, lotsa tunes there that stand out, check Ya Bass or Earlyworm there for some killah dubs.
& don't forget french dub scene-pushin boundaries forward with sounds like High Tone, Zenzile, Brain Damage.
I guess it's safe to say that dub is my favourite subject.
