Boxcutter - Glyphic

Far removed from London’s dubstep scene, where battle is constantly waged between bassbins and the limits of the eardrum’s tolerance, Northern Ireland’s Boxcutter makes music awash with the atmosphere of electronica as much as the rhythms of dub.
Boxcutter has always tread the path of experimental dubstep, and his second album Glyphic is a fine example of this. Glyphic presents to us rumbling bass, warbled synths, and glitch freak-outs in a genre mashing dubjazzglitchstep package. 'Glyphic' is an incredible album that manages to defy genre while establishing a completely original, unmistakable Boxcutter sound.

surprised this album has not gotten more attention here. thought it was really well done. anybody that has yet to hear them should check out the track 'bug octet'. that track is very dubstep.

I agree more producers need to be pushing the boundaries and not just making lame skream/loefah rip offs etc...(i'm pointing the finger at people like rusko, caspa etc. there)
Fair enough each to their own it's just not my cup of tea. I guess there's big diversity in the sound of "dubstep" i'm personally looking forward to the new Vex'd and iTAL tEK albums on Planet Mu. I reckon theyre both gonna be pushing the buttons of people who are into progression of this sound.
I by no means want to slag off others opinions i'll just say that whatever it is i'm into GOOD music, regardless of genre or scenes....so yeah I look forward to those releases. Artists's like Boxcutter, Milanese, Ital Tek, Vex'd are just doing more for me right now.
Yeah.....Big up Glyphic

Totally digging the sound samples for this on iTunes, especially "Foxy". Will definitely need to snag a copy.
