Soo....this is a really interesting sound...the yoiee growl thing in the second half is what I am talking about. Anyone want to have a crack at recreating it?

Sounds like the Immunity growl actually. And I don't know how to make either of them lol. It does resemble what happens if you use parabolic shaper though,.

It definitely does. I didn't realize how close the Brostep growl (second drop) is to the Immunity growl (second phrase). This new growl sounds like the Brostep growl with something off key layered with it. The pitch bends are really throwing me off though...it doesn't sound like normal pitch bending...or perhaps it is but just because the parts are off key or something...

I have a feeling that these sounds are made through a similar process to jAyMaC's Turmoil tut.

That is a good call, that Jaymac tutorial has a similar tone to it. I wonder if you swap mtalk out for carbon or something to make it smooth...

Bit of topic, but is it me or does his snares still sound different from million other artists with 200Hz snares?

He does something to them lol. The transients sound very distorted, either by soft or hard clipping.

Second noise reminds me of some KTN growls with something higher pitched in the background

I figured out that there's something unusual on transient. His drums feel more punchier and "characteristic" than what you usually hear when surfing around youtube and sc. Really hard to explain, it's almost like he would have hired some beatboxer to make a snare sound with his mouth and then layered that on the top of the original 200hz snare.

I always thought that his snares sounded like they had a real snare drum layerd in.
