Can you put a free download on a bootleg remix?

Hey guys, yesterday I released my new bootleg of Fix You by Coldplay.(Track is in my sig) I would like to put a free download link for the track, but I really don't want to get sued by Coldplay. I tried sending an email to their office to ask if it would be ok, but they basically replied just saying that Coldplay does not endorse unofficial remixes. Am I good to put the free download link up?
thanks!
And sorry if this is in the wrong thread...I didn't know where to put it.

Hey, you can put your tune on soundcloud or youtube, it will maybe tell you that you don't have the permission and delete it, but you can make a free download because you will not earn money from their work, they will sue you if you make around 100.000$ with it, but with all my respect for your music, I think you have some time ahead ^^

Thank you so much for the reply! That is what I had thought, but wanted to make sure. I figure it would be pretty worthless of them to sue if I make no money off of the song. Also I only used the vocal track for the bootleg and everything else in the track is original. (whether that changes anything or not) I will plan on getting the download link up in the next couple of days, in case anyone is interested.

I am not sure how they do it, but it will prob eventually get taken down given it is a big name artist. Here is a nice letter that I got for one. I think they scan your track names and also what ever is used for song ID like Shazam technology. I have been seeing some people use leet for the name to avoid the name recogition. So call it COLD PL/\Y remix or something like that. I would guess that a good enough remix could avoid the scan.

They start to give a shit about copyright only once you get Diplo/Skrillex/Zomboy famous and you earn money from sampled material/ free bootlegs... once they can smell some money income from sueing... and sometimes even then they dont do a thing because they might like your remix

Agreed... to the point where I honestly wouldn't even bother uploading to Soundcloud. They
will catch you and they
will penalize you in their system as a result. Not worth the headache. Go with youtube or mixcloud imo
