Like the moody atmosphere created, totally my sort of thing. Good use of pads and atmospherics on the intro and throughout. On headphones at the moment so cant really check levels etc. Drums edits sound cool. Maybe some extra sounds to fill it out. All good though man. Feeling your other track aswell man, nice and moody. Good stuff, keep at it.

Wow... thats the smooth atmospheric business right there.
A true definition of what "broken beat" is in my mind. This is something I would play in either a downtempo set, or maybe even in a beginning of the night/end of the night chill set.
See also, Shackleton/Coki... real nice riddims. This being released?

No plans or money to release it yet but might have a word with the growing Brighton crew and see if anyone's up for going splits on a release (preferably with some level of music biz knowledge).
Odd you saying it was downtempo - it's probably one of the few non-halfstep toons on the forum, but thanks for your comments and feel free to play it wherever you wish - just tell me how (or if) it drops. I'm more influenced by the sort of dark garage sounds and older dubstep to be honest, so that's probably where the broken beats come from.
Glad you enjoyed anyway
P.S. "Stuck" by Coki is the don, only heard it the other day, damn shame I can't get hold of it now.

Not really downtempo, but I mean is that it could be mixed very easily with some jazzy stuff, or hiphop breaks... DJ Cam, RJD2, etc... just so smooth. Both of the tracks you sent are... will be passing the word on through the appropriate channels about these.

Thanks squire, you're a gentleman and a scholar (and a jungle connoiseur to boot)!!

Nice garage vibe.
Im feelin the drum patterns. nice energy
chilled. they're dark.. but they aint Beggin dark like some producers. high level production
keep the tracks as they R, but maybe experiment with some subtle groove voodoo skank

i thought this track was kinda muddy on the bottom end in places. conflicting in note
cool sample
ah when the beat comes in it reminds me of random trio stuff
my main gripe is the notes in this piece - all seems a bit muddled - i would like something more to latch onto.
good drum programming especially

I'm re-doing this tune and undercurrent, as I did them in emulator x and really need to bounce them all down to separate audio files and then compress/eq them all, so I'll post them up here when that's done.
The notes are a more atonal thing, as I wasn't keeping it all in the same key as I was after a more drifting effect to make it sound like more than one piece is being listened to on a more subconscious level. The lead bass noise is deliberately dulled as I wanted the melody to not be upfront and have a more gradual movement rather than loads of blatant drops, more like minimal techno I suppose.
