Other than Vex'd's album?

I was in Blackmarket with my mate a few months ago (he was buying Grime tunes). When I saw this record cover that caught my eye (Vex'd - Degenerate), so I asked to listen to it, and as soon as I heard Thunder I thought, fuck me this is some next dark shit. I'd never heard any Grime like this before. So bout 3 weeks ago (I work in a cd shop) I ordered my self a copy of the album on cd and I aint stopped listening to it! It was only the other day after researching on the net that I found out the proper name for it is DubStep.

This album has inspired me so much, the other day that I thought I had a touch of beat makers block coming on (I usaully make Hiphop and abit of DnB). But after listening to this non stop I've found that a whole new world has opened up for me......(I've just come on the net to have a little brreak from my nearly finished first DubStep tune...lol)

:?: The thing is I need to hear more stuff like this, so I'm asking all you DubStep experts on this board to recommend some more CD's to check out (If there is any...that is). :?:

Cool stuff from last year that should still be easy to order on CD:

Grime (Plasticman, Mark One, SLT Mob) on Rephlex
Grime 2 (Kode 9, Loefah, Digi Mystikz) also on Rephlex

Mark One - One Way. still awesome album on Planet Mu.

good news. i think the scene needs to produce more, widely available and relatively cheap mix cds; just as the grime scene has done.

the new found global interest and the accessability of the cd format will allow the scene to grow. afterall, if people can't buy the records it will surely be difficult to sustain the current momentum that dubstep is enjoying.

factor in the fact that a good proportion of the new audience probably don't even buy vinyl i think mixcds are a good way to go, and a great promotional tool for gaining bookings.

as blackdown point's out in this month's column, the rephlex grime cds, with a global distro did great things to promote the sound, lots of smaller mix cds will undoubtedly do the same

Finding Dubstep releases in NYC

Hi. Ive been a dubstep fan ever since a friend of mine pointed me over to Gutters blog about.. a year ago?. Ive been downloading, reading and listening to the mixes and various blogs for a loong time now. I want to support the artists and the community however, and Id like to buy some shit. Ive looked around NYC for Vex'd release, or any other dubstep, and seem to be drawing blanks stares from just about every shop owner I drop in to. Ive checked the usual Kims records, as well as Other music, and Satilite Records, which didnt carry anything, but at least knew what the fuck I was talking about...

Anyone want to give me any hints where I can find stuff, and what is released on CD format (No decks here..). Ive had trouble finding things posted here.

Thanks. You guys (and gals) seriously get my props. This music really moves me, and the production value for just about everyone keeps going higher and higher. Keep it up and keep it feirce.
