Have to second Fully on that one - no 303's please, that trancey sound doesn't fit in dubstep. Not totally against techno elements but trance and hardhouse are well played out and don't groove well alongside deep bass.

Liked the melodica though.

I like 303. Don't let them turn you off of your sound. I was feelin this. I'll listen closer and hit ya with a review properly, but I am always down for some acid. I own a 303, and wouldn't trade it for the world. keep doin your thing.

I'll just edit to add a review...

I didn't think the 303 took away, in fact, it added to the trippiness of the track, if you will. Pretty sparse to be honest. I thought the levels of everything could come up a lot, and that the bassline could use some SERIOUS beef injections.

This would be a lot hotter if I could hear/feel most of it. If anything the volume is what I would be worried about. The acid was fine... didn't go overboard into a full acid line, just a little acid arps, etc... definately feelin it.

When you say "live" what do you mean by that?

Well, it is quite hard to define the genre of that little tune. I can only say:
the riddim was influenced by ragga and moved to some breakness(about 8.40min) mixed with some dubby elements and defenetly trancy synth line on top. It is pretty crossover. What we like about dubstep are the deep basses, its breakness and deep frequency which we tried to get into the track.

Equipment used:mic_through_kaos_pad, Live_programing_with_Yamaha AN-200, Ableton_for_Bass, Midi stuff, melodica.
Main source was the yamaha An-200 (produced this little 303 acid sound line) which is limited to one bar for programming and defently influenced the playing style.
I think to use some funky synth is not so bad, it can produce some wicked feelings on the dancefloor. We are electronic musicans who are using the equiment we have trying to make people loose their minds in the clubs.


whats missing perhaps is a deep junglelized bass line; and to use the acid line more controlled (for accents)

Live is for me everything that is not recorded pre arranged and is manipulated(produced) at the moment.


P.s :For shure you need good headphones to lissen to the deep kick drum.
