Anybody got tips on different song structures? I seem to have got stuck into an intro, main bit, middle bit, main bit, out. Obviously there is some variation in them. But i wanna add more, but not sure how to transist cleanly between em.
cheers

Not being funny, but if someone gives you tips on different song structures you are still going to be replicating existing templates in the same way you are doing now.
Best thing to do is just experiment. Don't be put off by what may seem like abrupt changes. Some of my favourite tunes are the ones that just change completely without warning - really attention grabbing.
Also, don't force random structures on tunes. Some tunes just really work with a regular structure and that's fine.
Just spend some time throwing different ideas at a tune and see what comes out.

try the progressive route... just build all ur sounds up & up & then for the 'drop' cut out all apart from the bass & drums.
erm... other than that, just experiment!

Why do peeps ask for advice on how to write tunes? What's the point of expressing yourself if other people are telling you how to do it?
just do what you want.

wow, you guys need to relax. sometimes people like to copy existing styles till they come up with their own style - to get a bit of a jumping off point.
he's allowed to ask this question, dont be mean, guys.

Just think about what kind of tune you are trying to make and the rest will fall into place.

i like other people's ideas because thier expression is still utterly my own.
