or is there?

much dubstep with mad odd timings and stuff

I know it'd be hard too mix and more perculiar too dance too

most of dance music is all 4/4 be dope too heard some mad odd timing sor just some real relaxed ones

dubstep would well work in 6/4 and that
itd be a nice change

real mathy dubstep for a more intelligent ear ro whatever

it'd be fun too hear

i think gravious winter sun is 3-3-2, still plays then like 8/4 and u can mix it but is not 4/4...am i right anyone, Ali ?

by thinking
cos DJs struggle to mix it.

That said, I think it was Spherix that did a tune in 7/8, with a 4/4 intro & outro for DJs to mix it. Interesting groove, but I don't think I'd want whole nites of odd time sigs.

Yeah, but it's great fun dancing to Blondie's Heart of Glass.

Skream made a tune with some fucked up timing on it that he played on radio a few months back. I can't remember what it was called now but there was a whole thread about it so someone will probably remember for me in a bit.

I quite liked it - caused a ruckus though

Yeah that was fuking nutter wasnt it? rare tune :P

Wouldn't mind hearing more i spose, especially in ambient type stuff. I just do hate tunes with weird timing being played out. I just think its dance music, and when it all sounds a bit odd I just dont like dancing to it. Sure others do though!

What about stuff thats has 4/4 beats layered with 3/4 beats? It's done a lt in techno particularly with triplet hats, its nearly a subgenre. It can give a bouncy Gary Glitter vibe (ahhh....brain hurting.....too many jokes...) which can be shit or great depending. The first track in my myspace player uses triplet hats and the mid- acidic synth sound is in triplet time, it doesn't jump at you as being such but it has that bounce.

Yeah, triplets are cool. Your track has a real nice swing to it.

Triples make anything sound way more pacey and groovy/danceable. The track on my myspace player is halfstep with triplets, but the drop at 3:11 sounds way, way faster than it actually is. It doesn't even feel halfstep, despite being so. DJ friendly, too.

Doing things on the 16s mostly sounds plodding and lethargic, not to mention rigid computery and lacking in any real feeling.
