Liking the Burial remix, though I think I'd prefer an instrumental.

for me this isn't burial.
this is a burial remix.
or, more accurately for me: a burialification
it lacks the burial sound, what makes burial records great, yet it has it in abundance.
which isn't to say i don't like it
i do
but it feels kinda hollow in contrast to the intensity of other burial tracks.

I know exactly what you mean. I listened liked it, but was not at all sure at the same time.

when i saw the track burial remixed, my initial thought was YES!!!! as i always thought the original sounded like a burial style production, but personally i expected a lot more than wot this remix gives, people are saying its gr8 coz its burial!!
like boomnoise said, it shows wot burial is all about but thats about it, real standard stuff for me, sorry people
but big up thom yorke all the same, love his voice, love the eraser, love radiohead!!!!
and i do love burial stuff, which guts me even more, sometimes too great minds shouldnt come together (pharrell and kanye, stevie g and fat frank!!! i rest my case, lol

)

I have to agree with you though i can stop listening to the tune, i do like this remix but his interpretation for Bloc Party is better (making a quick comparation), this one is definitely more laid-back and quite probably its the Thom Yorke's vocals that gave tune this ethereal feeling though once again i have to admit its a good track and it has the whole sound envelope of the artist.
Modeselektor's remix is pretty hot as well, i hope that the others releases can get a proper digital release soon.

Easily. That Lata (Blackdown) remix is a percy, spine chilling.

got to finally listen, and i agree with you gents. 'burial-ized.' the track sounds more like burial's interpretation of thom yorke's song - and i have to wonder if thom had any say in the way of production .. i'm so used to hearing a burial rmx sound nothing like the original, but this one definitely preserved the integrity of the vocal track. which isn't a bad thing, just not what i expected. i'm more interested in the way the instrumental sounds on this one anyway.
again, the modeselektor rmx played with the vocal track a bit more, but still kept most of it intact. which makes me even more suspicious about thom's reservations about having his songs remixed. it's all a mystery anyway.
the instrumental on both of these is sick. love these producers.

Just a quick note and something that i recall is that Thom Yorke seems to feel Burial sounds alot, the other day i was browsing through the YouTube thingy and got myself with a video of Yorke playing some tunes and his first selection was Near Dark, interesting.
for those interested
Anyway his djing skills arent that great (actually pretty similar to mine) but out to Thom each and every.
