I hear you, its not meant as "this is how its done" as much as "here's the basic concept"....
I certainly dont intend to imply that this is THE way...
Its really just the theory behind it, applied on a simple synth.

frankly, anyone that's still drawing for the wobble is pretty unoriginal as it is. So no great loss.

Sadly I'm starting to believe on that conclusion

I never said anything about hating it or not, just that its use is massively widespread and therefore unoriginal nowadays - I'm more interested in people writing beats with new sounds and ideas. I'm not gonna launch into another discussion about tha wobble tho cos it's waaaay overdone.

I reckon there's still a lot that can be done with basic wobble bass. Some producers just use it as a lazy way to make OK tunes but I think it could still be used in new ways to devastating effect, like in DnB it's usually thought of the same way but producers like Calyx use cool techniques with it like including noise gates for more rhythm
And that's a great tutorial, cheers!

I think wobble is just a sound like any other else. Even though a lot of people uses it I think you can still be original with it. It's something like an amen break in dnb. But again I am very new to whole dubstep thing so I might be wrong.
Btw nice tutorial.

Well, to think that using LFO's on basses or the wobble effect all together, were original to dubstep is naive. There's very little thats "original" in dubstep if thats your criteria...
edit: Sorry, if I sounded rude here, its unintentional

I just love the "oh no its a wobble" moans lol Yet so much of what they listen to is LFO even if it aint the usual wubwub fx! Its mad!
I look at my ti n nearly every noise uses an lfo.... OMG they sold me a £1300 pound wub wub machine lol
Plus its not healthy, any new producer reading ppl's idea's of LFO's my think well I best not touch that button then...Wasted!
Not everything that uses LFO's wub!

Innit.
Plus I would rather have a bassline with movement and dynamics, using clean, non modualated subs is more "un-original" than using an LFO.

I feel you, its certainly easy to get a pigeon-holed idea of how certain things work on synths and in music in general.
When i first learned about LFO's, I saw them applied heavily to pitch, which really turned me off. "wow, modulating pitch, that sounds horrible" i thought.
But the LFO is so widely applicable, and it isnt always used at a cranked tempo, to get a seasick bass sound. Just slow the LFO way down and get that dramatic shift that is present in almost all dubstep, regardless of "wobblin"
