Logic Pro 7.2, ReCycle, Reason sometimes... as a computerized rack for rewiring to logic, Audio Finder, Peak Pro and Plugins.

always: Logic pro 7, peak, and recycle

sometimes: ableton, reason

if you've already got sample libraries, etc, logic/ableton would be the way to go. if you need everything, reason. peak and recycle are excellent utility programs.

I agree with that sentiment. Before when I used to use cubase, it took me ages to finish off tracks. Now I can just jam with things until I find something I like, and recording the arrangement gives you a good 'feel' for the track. In cubase, I hated having to lay out the arrangement and listen to it back before finding out what I did worked. Now I can just rehearse the arrangement until I like it, then record it.

Live does lack some finesse though. I do miss things like logical edit and the like. But not enough to go back.
