I want to start mixing techno or whatever they call it these days, long gone are the days when techno was techno. what types of music mix well with the dark presence of dubstep ?? any specific tunes ?

dubstep is half time to break beat, some dubby step and dubby breaks work well together

^^ This

BPM is less and less of an issue these days with digital mixing interfaces allowing greater pitch control. I remember back in the day where you'd have to mix drum & bass tunes into house sets on 33rpm with -8% pitch just to get the beats sitting right...

if a dj needs to be told what to mix you might as well have a jukebox

Do whatever works for you, and use the effects creatively. For example, when I'm switching from DnB to dubstep or to something weird (ie SebastiAn's H.A.L. being 160 bpm) I'll just add a long reverb to the end of the first track, let it hang and then drop in the next track when it sounds right. Sometimes it sounds like shit, but sometimes it works, it's all about figuring what you can do to keep the party going.
