Personally, I think different approaches work better with certain tracks than other tracks and the more you experiment the better you develop a sense for what works and what doesn't.

i put a post up teh other day like this...i think dubstep is great 4 layering and mixing over each other, keepin the 1st track goin even when the 2nd has broken down and starts to kick off ahain!!
better than dnb 4 it i reckon, maybe the beats are just smoother...well i say beats, maybe cus they are slower, not so much clanging

Bit of everything, although I wouldn't recommend having both basslines playing at the same time.

i do get bored mixing it compared to other genres but i have only recently started mixing it

Two less "in your face" tracks often work well together though, imo.

sometimes i just mix the intro in and then when the tune drops cut it, or sometimes i have them both playing, but alot i have them both playing, and turn one of the bases off, so i have a trebal on 1 track, a bass from the other, then on the bars i would swap them and just play round like that

This aint the question, but i think the best way to learn beyond beatmatching is to practice with someone.
Anyone wanna hook up in Manchester...all my mates cant DJ.
Also, recording your own and listening to everyone elses.

i thought i was the only 1 who sometimes recorded and listened back to my own mixes...always a little somet that i`m not happy with so never really end up getting one hosted..shame really cus i play somne good shit!!!!!!!!

Its pretty much essential IMO.
