Oh my god. This is incredible!
Bit unfair seenas the scorpion wouldn't be able to sting the beetle though its armour but still very entertaining.
Don't see why you think its wrong. It's bugs! They don't feel pain. At least I can't imagine they do anyways

i'm sure they do feel pain. poke a spider and see if it moves away and i'm sure it will. must be able to feel.
can't see the videos here but i'm sure the insects flinch when they get attacked. granted they don't have higher intelligence and probably can't think as we know it but they'll still feel pain

I get what you mean about cruelty, but something in the back of my heads says there are absolutely millions of others out there somewhere

there were millions of trees out there once so people cut them all down. look how that ended up.
/end hippie mode

Stag beetles are endangered anyway i think, so that is a bit wrong.
Also generally the idea of watching shit die for fun smacks of fairly psycho behaviour, regardless of species.
That said, it was fairly awesome, i thought the beetle was toast, but that scorpion got owned.
edit: Round the 10th... japanese giant hornet action. Anything that contributes to those fuckers getting wiped out is good in my opinion. Anything that can melt human flesh with a sting needs to go

To be honest, I was so blindsided by the sheer awesomeness of it that I didnt think of the moral issue. It is messed up, insects or not, to make anything fight and/or die for our amusement.
Its awesomeness is the whole package though, the graphics and the announcers yelling in Japanese is what did it for me. Just the whole fact that it even exists is pretty amazing and awesome. I mean cmon, its like a real live Godzilla movie at 1/32 scale. Aside from the dying, how does that not rule?

Not going to argue with you. The fucking hornet won though! Not impressed.
Insects creep me out, big time, and seeing them fighting is genuinely really creepy for me, so it's awesome to watch. Obviously though we are all going to hell, standardly

I bet it is actually shown on japanese tv too.
Its not bad to watch it. You haven't done owt to the creepy crawlers.
If people didn't watch it the bugs would have died for nowt!
Its quite scientific aswell. If you hadn't watched you would never know which is the most rawkus japanese bug.
It wouldn't bother you seeing a bird eat one of em so why not let them go out with a little pride and a whole lot of glory.

that is at once the coolest thing I have ever seen and outrageously tragic. Praying mantii aren't good at street fighting, only striking smaller creatures. and the 29th battle was kinda sad, the scorpion knew he had no chance and wanted to run away

those beetles aren't endangered - they're sold in like every pet shop over here, the little kids love them
plus, I didnt watch all the videos, but it just looked like the bugs were just struggling with each other

I know what you mean, the incongruity of it is quite compelling! Especially the adverts for japanese wives! Would you really want your married life to be forever associated with such a scene? The advert for debugging is more appropriate though - pure jokes!
